Who We Are

Fifteen hundred years ago, Patrick went back to the people who had enslaved him. Not because it was safe — but because something stronger than his bondage had truly set him free. The love that freed him had made him restless — so he gave it back to the people who had taken everything from him.

His faithfulness impacted generations. A century later, Columba inherited that restless love, and built a community on the tiny island of Iona. From that island, monks were formed and sent across the known world to plant churches, make disciples, and carry the gospel to the edges of the earth. An unlikely origin. An unstoppable movement. Formed there. Sent everywhere.

The Iona School exists to form worship leaders from the inside out — people whose musical skill is matched by genuine pastoral depth. We do that at St. Patrick’s, in a small church in Lexington, Kentucky, compelled by the same restless love that called our namesake and launched Columba's boats. Because the world is longing to be led into the chorus that has been echoing since before the foundations of the earth. We think the person called to lead it might be you.

In the lineage of Patrick. In the tradition of Columba.

The Iona School: Formed here. Sent everywhere.

About Us

We are St. Patrick's Anglican Church — a congregation in Lexington, Kentucky. The mission of Saint Patrick's Anglican Church is discipleship - nothing more, nothing less. We exist to glorify God by being disciples of Jesus and helping others become disciples of Jesus.

Any baptized Christian is encouraged to apply to The Iona School. Our mission isn't to make more Anglicans. It's to make disciples. We love the liturgy, the calendar, and the old words — not because they're ours to protect, but because they're paths that have formed Christians for centuries. We also love the gifts of the Spirit, serving those in need, and a raucous worship song. The old and the new, together in the mission of Jesus.
